Over the past few chapters we have been investigating what occurred in both the Middle East and Europe during the Middle Ages period.  Now we are going to focus on the importance of some of the African Kingdoms during this time period.  

West Africa produced 3 very successful trading kingdoms during the Middle Ages: Ghana, Mali and Songhai.


Further south, Bantu towns would become important to Europe's "Age of Exploration."
